A Last Stand Story
This game has been made for the GameDev.tv game jam 2024.
Sound is OFF by default, there is a button in the Main Menu to switch sound on or off.
A Last Stand Story is a simple 2D Shooter where you need to defend a Farm Yard from enemy soldiers for as long as you can.
The story is based on a real event during World War II that was told to my family by a veteran while on holiday in Normandy.
The theme of the game jam was Last Stand, and as such, you will die. How many enemies will you be able to take with you.
The game has been made for a resolution of 1280 x 800 px and has controller support.
The Web Build has been tested using Chrome through itch.io, and the Windows build has been tested on Windows 11.

oh dude this is really cool its like i made some game like this when i was young.. this type of art is really nice actually i think .. .. its like amateur good effort pixel art and it has a unique good charming quality, the house looks really cool, the over all aesthetic seems mostly consistent.
10/10! The art is really nice, and it's fun to shoot to the enemies! And loved the music and sounds, match really really well and it reminds me to old family games and I absolutely loved it!

That old fashioned style kind of came about by accident. I tried to keep things simple enough that I could actually make it before the deadline.

I love the simplicity of the game and just pixel art in general. Ngl, I sorta just jumped in and I started shooting everything in sight even my team before I realized there was enemies at the corner.
Good news is, you shouldn't be able to kill your team mates, thanks for playing.
I really like the fit with the theme. The farmer that takes the corps and burry it is a nice detail!
